Plastech Autosafe is one of the first vendors in the automotive industry and the absolute first in Pakistan to have its seat belts ECE-R16 certified. Regulation No. 16 of Economic Commission for Europe of the United Nations (UN/ECE) — Uniform provisions concerning the approval of: (I) Safety-belts, restraint systems, child restraint systems and Isofix child restraint systems for occupants of power-driven vehicles. (II) Vehicles equipped with safety-belts, restraint systems, child restraints systems and Isofix child restraints systems.
The E-mark, also referred to as ECE-mark, was agreed by the Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) of United Nations (UN). Behind the test mark is a uniform system of regulations for vehicle design. Vehicles or components that comply with the ECE regulations receive an E-mark, which is mandatory in the European Economic Area (EEA) and also recognized internationally.
Many countries outside of Europe also align their own conformity requirements with those of the European Union and accept E-test reports as appropriate prrof of conformity. No further testing, evaluation or other conformity marking are required. Components marked with ECE symbols are thus considered to have been tested and can be installed in all countries participating in the ECE procedure without further testing.
